About International Raccoon Appreciation Day
International Raccoon Appreciation Day is celebrated on October 1st.
This appreciation day was started in 2002 by a young girl in California, in an effort to highlight the important part raccoons play in local ecosystems, as they are generally misunderstood and are considered pests.
