About National Absinthe Day
Absinthe is an anise-flavoured spirit derived from several plants, including the flowers and leaves of Artemisia absinthium, together with green anise, sweet fennel, and other medicinal and culinary herbs.
Dubbed The Green Fairy and The Green Lady by those who love it and The Green Curse by those who fall before it, absinthe is one of the most alcoholic spirits.
Absinthe is made using wormwood and other herbs which give it its traditional green tinge. Ingredients include anise and fennel and it is distilled.
