About World Day of Homeless Animals
This day may also be known as Shelters Day or International Homeless Animals Day
World Day of Homeless Animals, which was established in the early 1990s to support initiatives of voluntary organizations to protect pets that were abandoned, and which have been found around the world.
As a rule, the day is celebrated on the third Saturday of August. Unlike “World Animal Day”, which is observed on October 4th and which primarily refers to the problems of protecting all animals, especially endangered species.
“Homeless Animal Day” directly deals with the problems that arise with our formerly beloved pets. This holiday is celebrated in more than 50 countries on 6 continents.
