About National Have A Coke Day
Every year May 8th is observed as National Have a Coke Day in the United States of America. This day is dedicated to one of the most loved soft beverages of the USA.
Coca Cola was invented in the late 19th century by John Stith Pemberton in Atlanta, Georgia. In 1888 Pemberton sold Coca-Cola's ownership rights to Asa Griggs Candler, a businessman, whose marketing tactics led Coca-Cola to its dominance of the global soft-drink market throughout the 20th and 21st century.
The drink's name refers to two of its original ingredients: coca leaves, and kola nuts (a source of caffeine). The secrecy around the exact formula has been used by Coca-Cola in its marketing as only a handful of anonymous employees know the formula.
Coca-Cola is the inventor of the six pack. 1928 was the first year in which more Coca-Cola sold in bottles than through soda fountains.
At first, Coca Cola was marketed as a remedy for several ailments including that of low sexual libido.
If you have only one can of Coke a day, you can already start suffering from high blood pressure. And women consuming these amounts of Coca-Cola are more likely to develop type 2 diabetes.
