Summary
A day to celebrate the most popular drink in the world after water.

To honour the significance of the international tea trade and all those involved in tea production, from the plantation to the finished product, many tea-producing countries on celebrated International Tea Day every December 15th since 2005.

In 2019, the United Nations General Assembly decided to designate May 21st as International Tea Day.

It is believed that tea originated in northeast India, north Myanmar and southwest China, but the exact place where the plant first grew is not known. Tea has been with us for a long time. There is evidence that tea was consumed in China 5,000 years ago.
