About National Cat Day
National Cat Day is celebrated on October 29th each year.
The day is intended to celebrate cats and encourage adoption rather than buying from pet stores supplied by kitten mills.
National Cat Day was founded by Pet Lifestyle Expert and Animal Advocate, Colleen Paige in 2005 to help galvanize the public to recognize the number of cats that need to be rescued each year and also to encourage cat lovers to celebrate the cat (s) in their life for the unconditional love and companionship they bestow upon us.
According to purrfectpost.com, a cat’s purr can release endorphins, lower your stress levels, help you heal from illnesses, and even lower your blood pressure.
- Did you know? Nobody knows why cats wiggle their bottoms before they pounce.
