In 2025, Wed Society, a community for wedding professionals and resource for engaged couples, announced the official launch of National Wedding Industry Appreciation Day, taking place on October 1st.

This first-of-its-kind national day recognizes the 350,000+ wedding vendors across the United States—from planners, florists, and venues to photographers, caterers, and DJs—whose creativity, passion, and dedication make nearly 2 million weddings possible each year and power a $70+ billion industry.

“Behind every wedding are countless small business owners, creative minds, and service professionals who make the magic happen,” said Kami Huddleston, cofounder of Wed Society.

“Wedding Industry Appreciation Day shines a light on the incredible people who support couples during one of the most important milestones of their lives.”

Spotlighting the Heart of the Wedding Industry

This initiative carries special meaning for Wed Society’s thousands of members—some of the most talented and trusted wedding vendors in the country.

On October 1, Wed Society will celebrate the wedding vendor community with:

  • National campaigns spotlighting vendor stories.

  • Regional events highlighting local wedding professionals.

  • Special recognition programs thanking vendors for their tireless contributions.

“The wedding industry is built on passion, creativity, and service. From the florist arranging centerpieces at dawn to the DJ keeping the dance floor alive at midnight, these professionals pour their hearts into creating unforgettable moments. National Wedding Industry Appreciation Day is about honoring their dedication and reminding couples — and communities — of the value they bring every single day,” said Ashley Bowen-Murphy, cofounder of Wed Society.

The Industry by the Numbers

  • Two million weddings take place annually in the U.S., attended by 230 million+ people.

  • More than 350,000 professionals—most of them locally owned small businesses—drive the industry.

  • The wedding sector fuels local economies nationwide, employing hundreds of thousands and inspiring creative entrepreneurship.

How to Celebrate

  • Couples: Share thanks to your vendors on social media with the hashtag #WeddingIndustryAppreciationDay.

  • Wedding vendors: Post behind-the-scenes moments, celebrate your teams, and showcase other vendors you collaborate with most often.

  • Communities & media outlets: Spotlight the local businesses powering the wedding economy.

Wed Society is also proud to share that the State of Oklahoma has officially proclaimed October 1st as Wedding Industry Appreciation Day. “We invite other states to join us in recognizing the social and economic importance of this vital industry,” said David Lewis, chief growth officer of Wed Society.
