About Weary Willie Day
Emmett Leo Kelly was an American circus performer, who created the clown figure "Weary Willie", based on the hobos of the Great Depression in the 1930s. Kelly was born on December 9th 1898.
Prior to Kelly, clowns had traditionally been colorful, happy characters.
