About National Upsy Daisy Day
June 8th is National Upsy Daisy Day. It was created in 2003 by Stephanie West Allen to encourage people to face the day positively and to get up “gloriously, gratefully and gleefully” each morning.
Upsy Daisy is an exclamation dating from the mid-19th century that is used to express encouragement to a child who has fallen or is being lifted.
And even if we aren't children, we can sometimes use an upsy daisy now and again, to ensure life's little setbacks don't dispirit us.
