About National Pfeffernusse Day
Pfeffernüsse are small spiced cookies, whose name translates to “pepper nut", even though they usually don't contain any nuts.
They are popular as a holiday treat with Germans and ethnic Mennonites in North America. Similar cookies are made in Denmark, and The Netherlands.
