About International Sushi Day
Sushi is a traditional Japanese dish that typically consists of vinegared rice served with seafood, vegetables, and other ingredients. Some common types of sushi include:
Nigiri: Thin slices of raw fish or seafood served on top of small balls of rice.
Sashimi: Thin slices of raw fish or seafood served without rice.
Maki: Rice and fillings, such as seafood or vegetables, rolled in seaweed and sliced into rounds.
Temaki: A cone-shaped sushi roll made with seaweed and filled with rice, seafood, or vegetables.
Chirashi: A bowl of rice topped with a variety of raw fish, seafood, and vegetables.
Sushi has become popular worldwide and is known for its unique combination of flavors and textures. It is often enjoyed with soy sauce, wasabi, and pickled ginger. It is important to note that raw seafood can carry a risk of foodborne illness, so it is important to consume it from reputable and trusted sources.
