About Navy Day
Russian Navy Day is celebrated on the last Sunday of July. Navy Day was initially founded in 1696 but was cancelled in 1980 by the Soviet Union. However, President Putin has re-established the day by decree.
Russia commemorates its annual Navy Day with a major military parade in St. Petersburg, involving about 200 warships of various classes in the event according to the country's defense authorities.
