About National Blood Donor Day
This date was established by Decree No. 53.988/1.964 in June 1964. November 25th was chosen as the anniversary of the formation of the Brazilian Association of Voluntary Blood Donors.
The amount of blood taken does not affect your health as recovery is immediate after donation. An adult person has an average of five litres of blood and a maximum of only 450ml of blood is collected in a donation.
