About World Reef Day
Also known as World Reef Awareness Day, June 1st is a call to action for consumers, businesses, and organizations to reflect on the delicate ecosystem of our ocean’s coral reefs.
Coral reefs cover less than 1% of the ocean but are home to 25% of all marine species.
The day brings together the general public and opinion leaders to create active change through education and engagement.
Founded in 2019 by Raw Elements USA, a 1% For The Planet member, World Reef Day is the recurring annual calendar day for the world to come together in awareness and activation to effect positive change for our world’s reefs.
