About Kyoto Protocol Day
The Kyoto Protocol was adopted on December 11th 1997. Owing to a complex ratification process, it entered into force on February 16th 2005.
The protocol is an international treaty which extends the 1992 United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change that commits state parties to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
