About Saxophone Day
The day honors saxophonists and commemorates the birth anniversary of its inventor Adolphe Sax, who was born on this day in 1814.
Sax was a Belgian inventor and musician who created the saxophone in the early 1840s. He also invented the saxotromba, saxhorn and saxtuba. He played the flute and clarinet.
