About National Weed Appreciation Day
A weed is a plant considered undesirable in a particular situation, "a plant in the wrong place". Examples commonly are plants unwanted in human-controlled settings, such as farm fields, gardens, lawns, and parks.
In some parts of the world, notably France and the UK, movements have started to embrace these floral interlopers into our urban life and highlight the role they play in bringing biodiversity to our city streets.
