About iPod Day
The first Apple iPod was unveiled by the company’s legendary founder Steve Jobs on October 23rd 2001. To recognize the importance of the iPod’s groundbreaking technology and the man behind its success, this day is celebrated as the National iPod Day.
Even though that first iPod was replaced by various different models and all sold with great success, only the iPod Touch is still in production, as mobile phones now provide a lot of the functionality that Apple's music player offered.
