About World Post Day
World Post Day is held to mark the establishment of Universal Post Union on October 9th 1874. The World Post Day was first declared on October 9th at the 1969 UPU Congress in Tokyo, Japan. Countries across the world participate annually in the celebrations.
The Posts in many countries use the event to introduce or promote new postal products and services.
