About Day of the Soldier
This day marks the anniversary of the founding of the country's armed forces in 1824.
The Forces have three branches: the Salvadoran Army, the Salvadoran Air Force and the Navy of El Salvador.
The Day of the Soldier is marked with a grand parade involving the three branches of the Armed Forces. The parade is followed by celebrations and ceremonial activities which relatives and friends of members of the soldiers are allowed to attend.
